Body Positive Program with LCSW Elizabeth Scott

A TRAINING FOR TREATMENT PROFESSIONALS WITH THE COFOUNDER OF THE BODY POSITIVE.

Learn a practical model integrating mindfulness and social justice that promotes healthy body image and self-care in clients.

The Impact of Disruptions of Embodiment

Research shows that body shame impacts people of all sizes, races, genders, ages, and sexual orientations. It is linked to destructive feelings and behaviors including depression and anxiety, self-harm, substance abuse, relationship violence, and eating disorders. In this experiential training, Elizabeth Scott will introduce the resources therapists need to confidently assist their clients to transform their relationship with their bodies.

Promote positive embodiment. In this intensive, day-long training you’ll:

• Engage in dialogue to understand the impact of intersecting identities on body image, self-care, and recovery;

• Learn the five capacities your client needs to reach healthy embodiment;

• Investigate your ethical position related to weight, dieting, and life threatening disorders;

• Become confident as a trauma-informed therapist;
